application of holographic technology to television
The present day state of the art for holotechnology television (HoloTV) systems is projection of bright pictures onto a pane of glass layered with a see-through film, creating the feeling of an image hanging in mid air. In coming years, holoTV systems will probably project full 3D images in mid-air without a projection surface of any kind. Holographic Solar: New Method of Concentrating Sunlight also has further holotech information.
Jet pilots can view computer-generated maps overlaid on the sky or ground. Also, surgeons can perform surgical procedures with computer-activated medical pictures of body organs and pathways shown on top of the patient's body. Other mixed reality uses can be mainly virtual with few real objects. To be specific, a computer screen can display (and enable elementary control from) the motion of an one's hand through an instrumented glove. Mixed reality worlds require proper matching of the real and virtual components and also quick reactions to prevent unworkable temporal lags and spatial disconnects. Big mixed reality worlds also demand long-range trackers inside large spaces or sophisticated omni directional treadmills to give participants the illusion of long-range movement. The site on Virtual Reality Graphics deals with these concepts as well. For related material, please see Holographic Entertainment . and the site Holotainment.com may be sent to:
